Timeless Tuesday: Purple and Blue!

Good morning and welcome back to another Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge! This week our hostess is Denise , and she is challenging us to: Use Purple and Blue!! Ok, I don't use much purple and blue, so using both together in a card was a welcomed new challenge for me :)

I used Flourishes "Garden Picks" from this month's release, stamped on the "Garden Picks" cut file for my Silhouette Cameo from Flourishes. I seriously LOVE my Cameo! I colored my bouquet in with Letraset Aqua Markers that are both light fast and give a true depth of color. I popped my image up on popdots before attaching it to my paper doily. To give my card some interest I used a few punches, some pearls and kept it all simple.

Timeless Tuesday: Bugs, Bees, Butterflies, Oh My!

Good morning Flourishes friends! It's Timeless Tuesday again and this week Maki, our hostess, is challenging us to: Use Bugs, Bees or Butterflies on our cards! I love all of them, but my favorite of the three, has got to be butterflies. They are just so soft and pretty!

I chose to focus fully on the butterfly only, and decorate around the butterfly, building out and around it.  It's meant to look like a butterfly under a glass frame.

I used a butterfly image from Flourishes "Butterflies and Blossoms" that I colored in with watercolors, then I cut it out and popped it up on popdots, placing it on some diecuts in the middle of my card. I created the framing with a multitude of Spellbinders dies that I cut from Flourishes Classic White Cardstock, then I added some burnt orange rhinestone bling to finish the card.

I created a banner for the party that says "Happy"!

A close up of one of the "Y".

The side profile of the "P" on the banner pennant.
I chose to hang it in my youngest daughter's room, because she's not a morning person, like her mommy; so it can remind us to enjoy the mornings together ;)
For the banner, I used Flourishes Letters In Blossom set that I watercolored in with the following Letraset Aqua Markers: Bamboo, Spring Green, Eggshell, Straw Yellow, Raspberry, Sangria and Twilight Blue. I sponged around each letter with Scattered Straw and Antique Linen Distress Ink to pop them off the background of Flourishes Classic White and Kraft paper. The letters are cut out with Spellbinder Parisian Accents, I popped up on popdots and placed them over an open cutwork design cut from my Silhouette Cameo. They were then layered over the Spellbinders Nested Lacey Pennants and under the pennants, I adhered a paper lace doily. The pennants are hung on Flourishes Kraft Jute Twine, with tiny clothes pins and as an added finishing touch, I added some gold pearls here and there.

Timeless Tuesday: Using Kraft Paper

Good Morning Flourishes Friends! This week's Timeless hostess is the lovely Cindy and she is challenging us to use our: Kraft Paper.

I created two items today with Flourishes "Bike Ride" that comes together as a set. The first item is a simple bookmark, keeping it flat so it can be used in a favorite book.

I used Flourishes "Bike Ride" stamped onto a diecut piece of textured paper and barely colored in with my Copic Sketch BG000. For the sentiment I used Flourishes "Country Road" stamp set. I used a few punches for my borders and then I added twine to accent my card. So it's pretty but flat, so it can be used in a book.

I have been using Kraft paper for a little while now, after my local Micheal's finally started to stock it :) I love the rustic look it has. So it got me thinking about creating a card with all Kraft cardstock, which I have always wanted to try. I have seen others do it and I think it looks great, so I wanted to give it a try too.
What's interesting is that I meant the thread to stitch nice, clean, and tight, but for some unknown reason, my machines tension is off and it's loose. But I kinda like how it turned out on this card.

I used the newest Flourishes release set called "Bike Ride" with the sentiment from "Flowers and Frames", another new set from the July release. I stamped them directly on Kraft cardstock, and then stitched around it with black thread. I embossed the matted background with Spellbinders Impressabilities "Flourish". I used some bling that I colored in with my BG02 Copic Marker, then I finished everything off with some wrinkled ribbon and a flower.
From the following Copic Sketch Collections:

Flourishes Noontime Challenge: Country Road!

Welcome back to Day 2 of Flourishes Noontime Challenges! Today we are challenging you to:

Use your Favorite Country Road as inspiration for your card or creation! Take a photo and pick three colors in it, then use those three in your creation. When you upload to SCS, please use keyword: FLLCAUGRW2.

I live in the High desert of California, so the grass is brown most of the year for us. I chose to focus on the dusty dry hills and the many golden brown hues in my challenge inspiration photo.

For my three challenge colors, I chose to use dark brown, soft golden brown and a pop of blue to keep it all from looking too muddy. Keeping everything clean and simple.
I used Flourishes new "Country Roads" stamp set that I stamped in Memento "Rich Cocoa" ink onto some DP. Then I sponged around my image with some Memento "Desert Sand" and "Rich Cocoa" Ink. I matted it then added some Flourishes "Kraft Jute" and a small flower. Then I used my punches for interest on my two layers then matted my first layer onto my Kraft cardstock base.

Flourishes Noontime Challenge: A Bit Of Texture!

Good afternoon, it's time for my favorite part of Release Week, Noontime Challenges! Today Flourishes Noontime Challenge is:

A Tad Bit Of Texture! This challenge is all about giving your card or creation a little texture! Add an embossed design? Share a little glitter? How about Crystal Effects or a few sanded edges? This challenge is all about those little extras that give a card POP! When uploading to SCS, please use keyword: FLLCAUGRW1.

Here is my card for today's challenge.
I used Flourishes new stamp set "Garden Picks" that I watercolored in with Flourishes Letraset Aqua Markers, cut it out and popped it up on popdots. For my texture I added a fabric embellishment strip on top of a paper lace doily, and pearls to dress it up. I framed it all up with a card base made of some Spellbinder diecuts, cut from Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.

Timeless Tuesday: With Gratitude

Good morning Timeless Tuesday Friends! Today is a real treat, the Flourishes Design Team is featuring a stamp set that was previously a FLIP gift. I actually became a Flourishes FLIP member to get it! And now Flourishes is releasing the set, and I'm so excited! This is a great one for a "Thank You" card!

Today's host is Heather and she is challenging us to use her sketch! Isn't it a pretty?
Growing up, my family had fields of  "Black Eyed Susan" Echineacea on their 40 acre property, but they only had the kind with orange petals. So I looked up some other colors that Echinacea's have, and I really fell in love with the colors in these photos.

I stamped my Flourishes "With Gratitude" flowers in Memento "Tuxedo Black" on paper and watercolored colored it in. I used  a Spellbinders "Nested Pennants" die for an accent piece,  matted everything on Flourishes Classic White cardstock and then added a pearl flourish.

As you make the rounds in today’s Timeless Tuesday hop, you’ll notice that some of the designers are using a fresh picked 123 Creat Kit called Delightful!

These kits have everything you need to create color coordinated cards with paper, ribbons and embellishments – all in one kit!  Travel HERE to see for yourself!
